Really weird problems with motherboard

This is driving me nuts. I have a Tyan motherboard, Athlon 800, 256 MB RAM, etc.

I had to completely disassemble the computer, and take all of the parts apart. That's a long story in itself... but anyways, I was careful about doing it. So I reassembled the computer (on a desk), turned it on, and everything worked. A few days later, I noticed that the CPU cooling fan stopped running (I noticed rather quickly, I guess)! Needless to say, I immediately powered down. Since then, I have had another motherboard propped on its side, with a cable powering the fan on my good motherboard, since the other fan connector on mine is too far away from the processor. Today I dug out a spare fan, and plugged it into the old connector on the motherboard, and it didn't work. I kept using the computer. The fan that was using the old connector just started spinning, and I haven't got a clue why.

Every now and then, my keyboard just stops working, and the only way to get it to work is either a reboot, or unplugging it and plugging it back in, and then it immediately works again. I can't figure that out either.

Just a few minutes ago, I heard this really weird noise, and it sounded like it came from the modem's internal speaker. It only lasted a few seconds, and was rather quiet.

Can anyone help? Please??? Thanks a ton!
