Alright, here is some backround info:
My friend had an older rig:
2.4C
512 RAM
6800NU
stock HP motherboard
yadda yadda yadda
He ordered some new parts, so his rig was as follows:
athlon 64 3000
epox 9nda3+
1 gig of pc-3200
6800 NU
I wiped his hard drive and formatted it and then installed windows XP on it. Everything seemed to be working just fine. When i took out the windows CD, i installed the motherboard drivers and video card drivers. When i rebooted the computer, it would keep stalling and asking me to make a RAID floppy disk. There seems to be no way around it, there is nothing I can do. Everytime, it keeps asking me.
I have tried the following:
disabling the floppy drive
physically disconnecting the power
removing the floppy from the boot priority
...yet nothing seems to work.
the only way i can get around this weird problem is putting in the windows CD. It gets to the "boot from CD-rom" part, then asks to press any key to boot. Of course we dont want to boot from the CD, so we dont press any keys. It then boots into windows. But, like i said earlier, if there is no windows disk in the drive, it will go to a weird Dos like screen and give me a bunch of options for making a RAID disk.
$5 to the person who fixes it, or that person can ask that i donate the money to the katrina relief fund.
thanks all
