Waste Management...what a waste.

It's now officially been 4 weeks since I've had my trash collected. FOUR WEEKS. And yes my bill is paid. My whole frigging neighborhood has had their trash collected except mine. Oh wait last week I managed to get rid of 3 weeks of trash because I was waiting on the front porch as I watched them skip my house then stop a few houses down for a smoke break.

Then dragged all my trash down to the truck and just laughed and said kept on smoking. Didn't even make a motion to help me or ask me what I was doing.

So I called the local complaint line, who assured me it wouldn't happen again and told me a manager would call me in 24 hours. Well that was last week. And finally got a phone call while I was at work from the manager.

And once again my trash was not collected. And today was even more fucking special. They placed a sticky on my trash can saying it was greater then 32 gallons so they would not collect my trash. Except my trash cans are all 32 motherfucking gallon trash cans.

This manager I call in the morning better offer a month's refund and champagne from the damn heavens. This is frigging ridiculous. My neighbor across the street has the same exact trash can and has never had a problem. WTF Waste Management WTF!!!?. :colbert:

/end rant

Never heard of using WM for residential unless it's for a one time thing like doing major renovations where you need one of those huge dumpsters. Doesn't the city pick it up? That's why you pay taxes. ;)

"WTF" is a question. "WTF?!" would get your point across much better than "WTF." No doubt, this is why they are ignoring your rant. I don't blame them. I would only answer questions too.

The city used to do pick up and contracted out to Waste Management, this is when the problem started. And when I say my bill is paid, it's my taxes yes paid.

My son had a problem getting a waste container from Waste Management after he moved in, he called, I called, nothing happened. Then he goes to a local bar and runs across a councilman for the area and tells him his story. The container arrived the next day.
I'd say your best bet is to get the attention of someone at city hall.

I got into a beef with them because the regular truck was out of service so they sent a dump truck out for collection. It was windy as hell and they had trash blowing half a mile down the street. After I called and complained, they repossessed my trash can and canceled my service. Those fuckers aren't to be trifled with.

The Waste Management Cycle (hum Wagner if you wish)
New trash can waiting at the curb.
The muffler free WM truck pulls up after circling the neighborhood a couple times.
The mighty arm reaches out and grabs the can.
The trash disappears into the maw of hell.
The mighty arm smashes the can back into the sidewalk.
The humble Ironwing (our hero) retrieves the can.
The wheel falls off, the hub shattered by the impact with the sidewalk.
The beautiful, gallant Ironwing drags the can back to the castle carport.
Ironwing calls WM to request that the can be replaced.
The frost giants come and go, even the gods weary of the wait.
Week after week the glorious Ironwing rolls the can to the curb and back, balancing it on the remaining wheel.
One day, the WM truck pulls up and the arm extends to seize the injured can. The mighty arm raises and comes back empty, the hapless trash can devoured whole.
A few days later a sullen, ugly, warped face, trollish ogre approaches the castle driving a muffler free chariot of rust pulling a disreputable looking trailer originally used by Hercules to clean out the Augean Stables.
The ogre, spittle coated cigarette dangling from his cancerous hairlip, drops off a new can.
The cycles repeats two to three time per year.

god damn our taxes here are high but I'm glad that twice a week our trash is collected by the town trouble-free and they take up to 10 items each time. Came in handy after moving in and doing renovations.

Things like this you take for granted until you hear people in some states/areas have to drive their trash to a facility.

Waste Management...

This manager I call in the morning better offer a month's refund and champagne from the damn heavens.

What's really going to happen:

TraumaRN: Hi, umm, sir, ummm, could you please pick up my garbage.

Tony Soprano: Ayyy, fuck you douchebag.

TraumaRN: OK. Sorry to bother you sir.

... 30 minutes later on ATOT

TraumaRN: I told that cock sucker to get over here and pick my trash up himself if he knew what was good for him. You should have seen how fast he raced over here. He looked scared as fuck too. I've never seen somebody haul off trash in the back seat of their car before.

We had WM here for several years. I don't remember why they decided they didn't want the business any more...We had 3 separate companies handling the city garbage pick-up, the city worked with the other two to handle the WM routes.

Here, we don't have "our own" cans...everyone in the city has city provided cans. One large black one for "trash," one large green one for "green matter" such as yard waste, recyclable paper products, compostable kitchen scraps, etc.
The last town we lived in had 3 cans...one SMALL black can for "trash," a large blue one for recyclable paper and such, and a larger green one for "green matter."

OP just ask you neighbors if you can put your trash cans next to theirs until you fix your issues up.

Pictures of your trash before takeout. I bet it's a ridiculous amount and that you are a ridiculous person for expecting it to be taken away.

We have WM here. Been in my house for 3 years now, still waiting for my trash can. I have to use two smaller ones, would be nice if I had the big one with wheels.

Why not include whatever douchy thing you did to set them off in the thread? Or are you trying to tell us they just randomly picked you out of your whole neighborhood to be pricks to?

That's just it, I haven't done ANYTHING. I've thought about it, I didn't put anything dangerous or particularly smelly or whatnot. I bought a new 32 gallon trash can to comply with their regulations. I used to just take my trash and put it on the curb, decided to stop being a cheap skate and bought a couple 32 gallon trash cans. That's when the problem started.

Anyways, I called the guy and explained the situation to him, he was very polite and apologized and offered to send a unit to pick up my trash today if I wanted(umm yes please). He also stated it was unacceptable for his crew to do that and he would talk to them. Told me if I have further problems to just keep calling him as he would prefer to sort out problem workers quickly.

Crossing my fingers for next week.

That's strange, we never had a problem with WM. Actually my dad has a dumpster pickup service through them for his restaurant business, so this wouldn't be a residential pickup. The trash guys regularly break the rules for us and even take waste piled on top and around the dumpster, obviously in violation of the service contract. But then again, we also take care of the guys, give them some food when we see them, even give them a food package to take home to their families at Easter and Christmas time.
