I have two microsoft intellimouse opticals.

A few days ago one of them kept freezing up. So, I switched with the other one I had and it
worked fine for a couple days now it is doing the exact same thing.
Does this sound like a USB problem, or did both of them just go bad.

Thanks,
SS

(EDIT)It is a Asus K8V mobo, with windows xp pro..

Try using the usb to mouse port converter, not sure what the exact name is, but I know mine are green. You should have gotten one in the box your mouse came in.

Microsoft is full of bugs. I would go with Apple anytime if only lots of apps could run on them..

Apple = The apple logo.
Microsoft = The apple with worms through it.

Remove your USB ports in device manager and let them be redetected, also remove the mouse from device manager and uninstall any mouse related software and reinstall.

Ok, it is still messing up. I guess my mobo is shot.
Ive used two differant mice, uninstalled and reinstalled usb crap in the device manager, and I did a format to the computer.

I think I will ditch the Asus K8V for something made by Abit.

In my experience, Asus > Abit.
