Ok so I'm fixing someone's laptop for them. The thing is there's a folder with the following name.

~rwc{}$$.rdw

Its approximately 17.5 GBs. It was also hidden. I did a virus scan but that came up negative.

I wanna delete it....but I have no idea what it is. Anyone have ny insights?

EDIT: Some more info. I couldn't open the foler because it was stop responding and just kinda freeze. I finally was able to get it to open just by waiting for like 20 minutes. Despite the message being "not responding" Looking at the file types list them as things such as

7560 File
1846 File
FBEC File

The name of the files are just reallllly long symbols, etc.

Ok more updates - the majority of the files are 1k in size...there are a group of files that are 262,144KBs in size. Different names, but exact same size.

Thanks

Did you run a thorough scandisk? Maybe something got really messed up with the file system. My roommate once found that he was missing nearly 20GB worth of files. I had him do a thorough scandisk and they were all recovered.
