Really hating Microcenter right now

Between the price drop on the 2700K and the 2600K and my new love for virtual machines AND this empty Rosewill challenger case sitting under my desk I really tempted to add a new i7 box to the collection.

i3-2100 doing fine as a media center.
q9550 doing fine as gaming\general usage\VM box.
Haswell available next year 2-3rd quarter

dont need new build

No, I went to the store in NY, Yonkers and asked if they can match the price of a graphics card and they said no. :'(

Got the Cambridge, MA to PM Newegg for a Gigabyte GTX 670 two weeks ago without any drama at all and have yet to have a single PM to Newegg refused at any of the five MicroCenters I've shopped.

I upgraded my simple server to a 2600k because I couldn't resist stupid microcenter's facebook sale on the 2600k.

Went there this morning and resisted.
Too many red flags.

Website listed a 2600k - Get there and they say "Mistake". They can't find it in the back and it shouldn't be on the website. i would have dropped that sucker right into my z68 and VM's the crap out of it.
Stared at 2700K and the discounted motherboards it comes with...didn't like any of the boards.
Picked up a HD7770 to replace the annoying loud hd4830 in the HTPC\light gamer box.
Label on the shelf said $119 (I just felt like spending cash at this point tp justify the drive). Get to the register and cashier rings it up at 150ish.
Hold on there sugarbritches...label says 119. She says something about a mail in rebate and I said screw it. Didn't buy anything.

Haswell better be good.

It usually starts with the innocent , " well, a backup PC is a pretty good idea", that turns into a new show called....

Computer Hoarders, the A&E show that documents the struggles of people who cannot say no to a needless computer upgrade or multiple computers and the roads they take to recovery.....

Lucky for me the nearest Micro Center is an hour and a half away. It's close enough to get a deal, but far enough away that I don't want to go there often.
