If want small portable ear buds make sure to get the canal (in ear) phones, its the only way you'll really block out external noise and get great bass. I have Ultimate Ears SuperFi 3 Studio and totally love them. IMHO they are a great value at only $80. My friend has Shure E2c's and I've compared them and like the UE's better.
