I was able to oc this bad boy close to KO speeds. That is why I love Evga, not only did the card come oc-ed a little @(445/1045) from other GT's@ (400/1000) but It was also able to oc it to (490/1250. Which is very close to KO which is @ (490/1300) And no artifacts!

I did the default Mark05 test and got that score... It is a really good score... Now I will try other tests at stock and at GTX speeds.

I acutally expected it to get a little higher, cause these scores seem to be at GTX scores. I am not sure what a KO gets for scores I will look it up.

Yeah cuz rivatuner didn't let me go too high yet. I spent one night doing this. These benchmarks are not CPU dependent anyways. If I clocked a little higher for my GT, Iw ould be hitting those stats too.

I'm just saying your scores arent' AMAZING or anything because I'm like pretty damn close too

ok, but next time you say something is not amazing and show lower scores cause that does not make sense. They are really good scores for a 7800gt though. And I did not need to use rivatuner nor did I unlock the extra pipes.

Now try actually playing some games and make sure it's stable. Just because you don't see artifacts, doesn't mean it's stable.

Edit: BTW your score is on the low side. Some people in this thread were saying they get about 8500 with their OC'd GTXs.

he's using a 7800GT, not a GTX. so that score is quite high

I get 9k on a gtx at regular artifact-free 500/1350 so that score isn't that impressive. It sounds just about right.

Yeah but 3dmark 05 plateaus incredibly with CPU speed. You basically need around 1.5 Ghz (if that) and then it's entirely GPU dependent. It's not like other game benchmarks.

I think his point was that your score wasn't out-of-this-world, since you guys are within 0.8% of eachother.

Still pretty nice for a 7800GT though :) . Crushes my X800XL ;) .

Ok I'm just saying that this is not so extreme or anything. It's not like I spent time to get my score, and I did everything on air and a sloppy installation of Windows without even any updates or tweaking.

Maybe it's cuz I'm at XtremeSystems or something, but what you're doing is like showing a 3700+ that can hit 2.85 and I'm just trailing slightly behind because I can only stabilize at 2.83. I personally think my OCing is just crap. I've seen better 3700+s that can hit 2.9 and close to 3 on air.

What I'm saying is you made it like "really good score with 7800GT" I was expecting like breaking 8k or something. Similarly, I've seen hardcore cooled 7800GTs that break 8k... I mean it's not like you're on top at ORB or anything either....

Not a bad score for a GT.... but not even close to a GTX. It does beat my X850 by 200pts though.

^a GTX hits 7800's scores while stock, I don't know why your saying it is not close to a GTX. It is not very close to the KO I don't think.

Also, I can probably clock my radeon 9600xt "OCed to GTX KO speeds" too... heck, I can probably hit over 625core before running into problems ;)

I get 6800-6900 when I put all the options on high at 1024x768.

I didn't overclock my 7800GT either

Good score for a GT - equivalent to stock 7800 GTX. My XFX 7800 GTX OC (490/1300) gets 8500 3Dmarks. That's about what other people are getting with their overclocked GTX (such as the evga KO). I guess some people can hit 9000 if they got a high end CPU (FX-55/FX-57) and overclock thier GTX even higher (e.g. 500/1350) etc

O and I hate to admit this but I will only say it for people to know. I oced to GTX-KO as you saw and it was fine no artifacts. However it was stable for a little while but some games just froze up on me every now and than. So it started to get unstable about 15-20mins into gameplay.

?!?

I get over 8000 with my setup, so... huh... 3Dmark05 isn't much to go by really, just nice to get a score that you can use to make sure nothing is really wrong with your rig. I would try setting it to my speeds, that seems to be the plateu where performance peaks for a while with the 7800GT series cards (not linear like earlier video cards due to some internal clocking shenanigans).
