Next time he does that, wonder aloud, "Hmmm, did I forget to wash my hands after taking that nasty crap?"

A good firm handshake like that is him telling you that he is more dominant than you. A limp fish indicates that you are a huge pussay.

Next time he does this, tell him you do Ultimate Fighting for a hobby, and put him in a Full Nelson.

I prefere a nice firm handshake. Not "i'm going to crush your hand" kind of handshake, but firm still the same. I don't like limp ones at all.

You only say that when he starts to move it back and forth.

Yeah go to an interview for a high positioned job and see how far you get with your limp fish handshake. I guarantee most business people can not stand a guy with a wussy hand shake and would turn you down instantly.

I always give a nice firm handshake, but not crushing potential. I also vary the firmness based on how the other person shakes. So at the beginning if I do mine really firm, but his is limp, I will let up a bit. I also prefer to receive a firm handshake over limp or crushing.

Its gotta be be firm, and there has to be a slight 'arm-shake' in the maneuver.

A good handshake should be firm, but friendly, and done without uncertainty. Awkwardness should be avoided. Eye contact should be brief and unthreatening. Attitude should be open and positive.
A handshake is a formal but intimate gesture and should never be forced on someone unsolicited. For example, if being introduced, the introductions should take place first, then the handshake. If a new customer walks into your establishment, you should never shake his hand right away (this is a big no-no that car salespeople do all the time). If you're making a business call at someone else's business, a handshake should only be extended right away if you had a pre-set appointment.
A weak handshake signifies a person that is flaky, uncommittal, and probably cannot be trusted. There is no worse handshake than the limp, wet fish. If you have one, fix that.
A bonecrusher is from a person who is overly competitive and probably trying to compensate for some lack of self-confidence.
A person who makes aggressive eye contact is probably a con artist.
When a man shakes a woman's hand, he should allow her to lead, his grip should be slightly more open, and he should be more respectful.

One day this Dude i knew,i shook his hand,Very hard,he almost cried. This young guy was like 6'4",
and about 250 lbs, i was 6' and about 210.
The next time i saw him, like 3 days later;he said "Hey do you hate me or something,?"
I said Huh what you talking about?>
He said you squeazed my hand so hard you broke 2 finger bones!

:( Bummer... since then i have just done a firm handshake, not the Pop the knuckles type. :(

*shrug*, i was referring to your comment about dominance (i believe it shows over-competitiveness and insecurity, as mentioned in an earlier post).

but in any event, i don't have such a handshake, nor do i derive my self-worth from what someone thinks of my handshake.
