The doors on Chevy pickups have been glued to the body since the mid 90's. AFAIK it's called automotive adhesive.

Wouldn't that make them a bit hard to open? 😉

Unrelated welding question:

How long and how difficult would it be to weld 2 halves of a ford mustang together around a pole? And would you use an arc welder or acetylene to weld it together?

Not real easy.

Arc or T.I.G. / M.I.G.

I always found that welding Aluminum to Aluminum was enough of a challenge.
Welding Aluminum to Steel sounds difficult, at best.

Did you not hear the "impossible" part?
Yes, I heard (read) the "impossible" part.
You seem to enjoy nothing more than pissing people off. Please continue unabated, but add me to your 'ignore' list.
Thank you, and good night, asshat.

I had a quick lesson in welding when my power button broke.

I temporarily bypassed the power switch, but the electrical tape fell off after a bit of time
and the bare 120v wire touched the grounded case. BOY O BOY was it a big flash and the
power went off in my house. Needless to say the power wire was arc welded to the case.
And there was a black ring around the spot where the wire touched.

3M makes an adhesive tape called VHB tape, or Very High Bond. Many industrial/automotive manufacturers use it. They say in some instances it is stronger than a weld. My uncle used to be a 3M sales rep, that's how I know. I do not, however, have any idea how to acquire any of this product. Some online retailer must have it. It's really good stuff. Search 3M's website--they have some amazing stuff.
