Really dumb question about KT7 and ram

I have a new Abit KT7. It's great. I use PC100 ram in it. I oc my Duron, too. So let me get something straight. In the KT7, you overclock the ram by changing the FSB speed, right? If you add PC133 ram you have to change the CPU FSB/PCI to 133/44, right?

Or do you just pop in the PC133 memory and it runs at 133 MHz? I am very confused by this, as you can probably tell. Do you only change the CPU FSB/PCI settings when you want to OC your ram? I just don't know why this isn't explained in the freaking manual.

Please, what is the deal with this in simple terms!!!!

The best way to run PC133 memory on a KT133 board is to tell it that you are using PC133 RAM. This would make the board run the memory at 133MHz with the FSB at 100MHz.

Not exactly sure where you would find this in the ABit's BIOS, but I am sure that if you can't find it, someone else here would be able to point it out to you.

Look on page 3-7 of your user's manual. You change the memory
speed under the heading of "DRAM Clock". Default is Host Clock which
is 100 Mhz. For PC133, change to HCLK+PCICLK. Good luck with your
KT7. They're a mother to get set up!

Thanks GWG. Wasn't sure about that HCLK+PCICLK setting as well as the CPU FSB/PCI thing. I still don't understand the CPU FSB/PCI setting exactly. :( I asked on a newsgroup but people would say "turn on 133 in yer bios dude," etc. :)
