really dumb quesiton probley, memory card reader help THANKS

So.. My 16gb/8gb Micro Sd cards with tiny usb reader give me about 10/mb second writes and even faster reads. This is fine, but when i try to use a diff memory card like XD or Standard SD cards the speed is less than 1.. its like 800-900Kb a second and is frustratingly slow. I guessed it was the stupid memory card readers but maybe its just slow cards? Class 2 seems like it should go 2MB/s so why do i get less than 1? i will test a class 6 16gb full size memory card but im pretty sure it will be same speed,

will this memory card reader speed it uP?

The 16gb SDHC class 6 card also gets 900K writes. very lame. its going to take a hour for 4gb to transfer over? will the memory card reader in my link speed it up? or be just as slow?

A lot of the problem lies in the tact that manufacturer's class speeds are unverified. A claim to be class 2 (lowest and slowest class) may not be correct. And, it is also possible that some reader/writers are more compatible with specific flash drives than others.

ok but will that 6$ 52 in 1 card reader be bunk and do 900K writes? i guess ill buy it and find out.

WOW put teh 16gb sdhc card in a 7$ (on woot.com) spongebob nfusion video player and copy's files very fast onto the card guess thats good news bad news.. Good news is the spongbob player takes sdhc bad news is the other memory card reader is garbage i guess.
