Really cheap RAM?

This really shocked me on the newegg front page, I have never heard of the company, but if anyone's building a system on the cheap this looks like a miracle! :Q

edit: I just realized that RAM prices went down a tremendous amount so this isn't really as amazing as I first thought 🙂 case and point

personally, id go with your 2nd link, have not heard of the first, but there are aslo many oem memory makers too.

Mushkin is the better quality. Wintec is a distributor that just buys cheap parts and resales it.. AMPO is an oem downgrade parts they just move for revenue.

I'd still never take unknown generic stuff. Mid-range stuff like Samsung direct memory or higher end stuff like Mushkin is always good for the soul. 🙂

and i just upgraded to a 1gig corsair value kit a month and a half ago...i tried to wait it out...everyone kept saying the memory market was gonna drop anytime...i waited and waited..after 3 months i gave in and bought it for 142 shipped...and now it drops...bastards...this always seems to happen to me 🙁

lol... I bought my mushkin on sale at newegg for $130 two months ago and I thought I was getting a great deal... I just noticed corairs prices the other day (under $100!). Whatever, that happens with almosy any part. You wait and wait and the day after you can't take any more, they go on sale...

yea to think i paid 120 for a 512meg stick of ocz el last summer. although, i did see the light and swapped that for 2 sticks of corsair value select not too long ago.

oh man, the 2T timings for A64s need to be fixed, I want more than 1GB without having to shell out for 1GB modules...

It IS possible. 4x512MB Plain DDR400 on an Abit WN-2S+ runs at 1T. ^^ I want one damn it!

RAM is hard pressed to run @ Cas 2.5/2 if it is labled 3 but 2.5 Cas can do 2 ...Yes both the Mushkin and Corsair is a good buy as well as the Kingmax which is on backorder @ the Egg.

I know this is kind of a dead thread, but I've been lurking for a while and wanted to share my experience with the Wintec RAM in the original posting. I did my first build a few weeks ago, and didn't really do my homework very well on some things. I'm on an Epox 8VTAI mobo with the Via KT880 chipset. I'm running an XP Barton 3200+ at 2.33 at 1.675 Vcore with 1GB of this Wintec in dual channel. The reason that I'm running at 2.33 is because I can't get things even remotely stable at any higher speeds. I blue screen or fail to boot at anything above about 2.35. CPU idles at around 43 peaks out at around 49-50. I'm pretty sure that the ceiling I've hit is because of the RAM. I hit an error within a minute on Prime 95 in Blend and Large FFTs (RAM intensive) tests. On the Small FFTs (easy on the RAM) I've gone over 6 hours before I stopped it (at which point the cpu was running at 49). Everest home addition puts the RAM at 3.0-3-3-8, and it benchmarks at 2680 MB/s Read, 927 MB/s Write, and 107.3 Latency, which are actually decent numbers for my chipset/CPU according to the Everst marks (though I'm sure that the modest OC and the DC have something to do with this). My BIOS doesn't allow me to adjust the timings or the multiplier on the RAM, just the voltage which I've raised and lowered a bunch of times with nothing to show for it. Anyway, that's my expereince for what it's worth. I've got some Corsair on the way... we'll see what happens.
