Alright .. so I get my Audigy LS in the mail. Shouldn't be too much of a hassle ... uninstall nforce2 audio drivers and install the new soundcard, right ? ...

Uninstalled nforce2 audio drivers. Reboot. Suddenly ATI can't find its drivers/control panel doesn't load. I figure i'll come back to it later ... install the soundcard drivers. Reboot ...

Well, soundcard sure seems like it works except for the fact that it produces no sound. That, plus hardware wizard is bugging me to install my onboard audio drivers, which I dont have right now. And ATI still can't find its drivers.

Decide to tackle the ATI problem first - download new drivers, try to uninstall old ones. Can't uninstalled old drivers, service error o_O. Uninstall control panel, run the new driver pack from ATI. ... "Setup unable to finish Installation".

... crap ...

So now I have .. no sound, no video drivers, no audio drivers .. what the heck do I do ?

Experimenting around with random stuff right now but .. I seriously have no clue.

Any help would be appreciated (!)

Edit: FIXED.

You need to disable the onboard sound in the bios. It also sounds like you deleted the Nforce mb drivers, including the agp drivers. Disable the audio first, delete the ATI, SB, and Nforce drivers, reinstall the Nforce drivers (assuming you have updated DirectX already installed), reboot, install the ATI drivers, reboot, install the SB drivers, reboot.

Closest I can find regarding onboard audio in the BIOS is AC97 Audio .. doesn't sound like it though.

Regardless, disabled that and the message bugging me to install onboard audio stopped. Going to try the rest of your steps now.

I was thinking about system restore but that never seems to do much of anything

Ack.

Installed nVidia drivers and all of a sudden it can't boot into Windows (normal) anymore. However, it can boot into Safe Mode ?

Tried installing ATI drivers in safe mode but it said it couldn't find the required hardware ... erm ..

Right ...

Anyone happen to have the Epox 8RDA+ motherboard CD on hand who wouldn't mind making a .iso or .bin of it and sending it to me ? =p
