I would definitely give your feedback to your initial contact and let him know that you now have serious reservations about proceeding along with further interviews because of the "manager" acted during your interview. See if you can talk to someone actually on the team to get a better idea of how things really work since most manager are clueless about what really goes on in their departments.

I wouldn't take the job. That is a telling sign that that place is probably a crappy place to work at.

I had an interview similiar to yours several years ago - the fellow giving the interview took a call from a golf buddy and let me sit there for 20 minutes staring at the wall while they talked about their crappy handicaps. After it was over I called the Recruitment Coordinator and complained about the guy, and wrote a letter to the Managing Partner detailing the events. A few weeks later the Managing Partner called and apologized saying he had received several complaints and had "reorganized" things - I had already accepted the job I really wanted at that point but thanked him for following up.

How did he make himself sound like a trust fund kid again? He said he went to college for a math major - that doesn't sound like an easy major to make it through college with.

Unless you think "went to college" = "trust fund kid", which I guess some people could believe.

I had a job interview once where they forgot about me. I interviewed with a bunch of people, and each person would get the next person on the list when we were done talking. The last guy went back to his desk to call the next person on the list, but got sidetracked and never called them.

I waited for 20 minutes before I said something to the secretary. I ended up getting the job, but I didn't take it.

Plus, he maintained an impressive GPA getting a degree I think few people would call easy.

Sounds like the place blew. Maybe they were being cute with a "test". But even that wouldn't change the fact that they're idiots. The test idea might work if they were the only company in the planet handing out jobs and everyone was willing to put up with any of their sh|t. Unfortunately for them, reality does not mesh with that kind of attitude.

I think its more likely the place is just horribly mismanaged, like tons of businesses are. Either way, its a waste of advertising dollars if you bring people in for an interview only to actively or inactively repel them from the company.

[/quote]I wouldn't call a degree in math "easy", but then again I've taken graduate level math courses that were brutal.
