Everytime i power on my speakers, i hear this fairly loud buzzing sound. Even with music playing, the buzzing sound is very apparent. I have tried several sets of speakers and experienced the same problem. I'm sure the plugs are inserted in the right sound outputs. I have the latest drivers for the generic soundcard. Could it be a power problem?any ideas? thanks':)

Yes, interference can cause buzzing. If you have an audio connection from your CD/DVD drive to the sound card, open the case and adjuste this audio cable. Typically, these cables are unshielded and can easily be induced with noise by neighboring cables (power and data).

Also, check where your speaker cables lay. If they are anywhere near any other system cables, try to adjust the speaker cable so that they are far away from USB, mouse/keyboard, power cables connected to the PC.

Of course, the problem might not even be related to this, but may be a bad sound card (internal IC) causing the buzzing.
