I built an HTPC/Emulation computer, its the same size if not smaller than the xbox, and cheaper yet faster.

You can plug PS2/Xbox/Gamecube controllers through a USB adapter, and you can play the games for all three systems. YOu just have to buy the real gtame and use the emulator.
So... Basically none of the above is truly accurate?

what is not accurate?

1)I built an HTPC/Emulation computer, its the same size if not smaller than the xbox, and cheaper yet faster.
This is true.
2)You can plug PS2/Xbox/Gamecube controllers through a USB adapter,
This is true.
3)and you can play the games for all three systems.
This is also true, google is your friend Wingznut, not false accusation. I cannot post links to emulation websites, that is probably against anandtech rules.
4)YOu just have to buy the real gtame and use the emulator.
And last, this is true. OR you can download the game if by chance someone has uploaded a gigabit big file, good luck though.

Please don't accuse me falsely and wrongly, I have never done such to you.

#3 is TOTAL BULLSH*T. There are NO EMULATORS for the xbox, PS2, or Gamecube that work. Yes there are some as previously stated that will show start up screens but NONE can actually play a commercial game.

You are just full of sh*t and everyone can see that.

OH Yeah you want the proof you aren't playing a XBOX commercial game in your HTPC?????? You can't even READ commercial xbox games in a standard PC. It isn't even possible. If you want to read the contents of an xbox game, you have to put it in an xbox then ftp into your xbox to read the contents. That right there is enough to prove you are full of sh*t.

The topic statement is true. There arn't many good games for xbox. The games that are good are really good, but there arn't and probably will never be all that many of them unless they start porting every PC game over.

WHERE IN MY POST DID I SAY I HAVE PLAYED XBOX GAMES ON MY HTPC? "you can play the games for all three systems". I nowhere said I had, I only made the remark that it is possible, and it is indeed becoming very close to possible. There are a few PS2 Emulators out there, and though they do not work very well, they can be made to work. I HAVE gotten PS emulators to work with the original games.

Edit: So by your opinion, only #3 is "TOTAL BULLSH*T", which by mine, it is not. Sure you can play them, just not well. And how do you know what I have access to and what I don't? Not everything is for little kiddies to find on google, however there are some.

Run along.

Without working emulators for all three current console systems, the above statement is a lie.

Although I fully admit that maybe you're not as much a liar as a person with poor communication skills.

A troll? I happen to be a respected trader here on FS/FT, and have pretty good heatware, so please define "troll".

i'm not talking about your fs/ft. i'm talking about how you continued to try and mislead everyone even though you knew you were wrong.

Get it straight, it's HBox(Halobox) I think that game alone is kinda worth getting one for. I just can't see myself having all 3 without feeling like a TOTAL loser:eek::)

i wasn't trying to mislead anyone at all. I didnt go out of my way to make an effort for anything. I simply posted the specs of my HTPC, and what I thought was true, but later learned was only partially true, but on its way to becoming fully true.

I guess that is the problem. Normally people would have at least have tested it before claiming (especially on a forum full of geeks) that anything works. By saying that "you can play the games for all three systems" you're simply claiming that you have worked out all the emulation for PS2, Xbox and more importantly, game cube.

Xbox games cannot be read by normal CD-ROM AFAIK (pls correct me if I'm wrong). You can read it thru a modded xbox and ftp it to a computer. Also, FatX, the filesystem is not readily available for in windows. If you have claimed to use linux for the HTPC I would have been more convinced.

There is no Game Cube emulation available AFAIK, again please correct me if I'm wrong.

With claims like these without evidence backing it up, you'd expect the flame. Just be more careful next time.

I agree that there are too few good "exclusive" Xbox games. The only ones that come to mind right now are Halo and KOTOR, both of which will be on the PC soon. I also can't stand playing FPS games on a console, the controls just never feel quite right to me.

As advertised, the Xbox sucks, but when hacked, the Xbox is quite cool. Lots of awesome things you can do with it, it's just not that great for playing Xbox games. Go figure!

agreed, it happens to be my favorite out of the 3, Super Monkey Ball..mmm..

it's kinda a shame that they don't have "A lot" of good games, although what they have are usually VERY GOOD.

Nitendo halted production for Game Cube BTW, at least till September.

Xbox has its gems. Just a lot fewer of them than on the PS2.

Let me fix that list for you...

Halo
Splinter Cell
MGS 2: Substance
Soul Caliber 2
Burnout 2 (sure why not)

I thought that Gamecube games were burned BACKWARDS onto the discs, which makes reading them on a normal DVD player impossible, which also makes emulating and pirating impossible or at least hard to do.

Hmmm...maybe I should go home and stick one in my PC and see what happens.

Me <--- playing Super Mario Sunshine while waiting for HALO PC.
