You can plug PS2/Xbox/Gamecube controllers through a USB adapter, and you can play the games for all three systems. YOu just have to buy the real gtame and use the emulator.
So... Basically none of the above is truly accurate?

Well, Caustik is close to achieving XBOX emulation (FAR more along than any PS2 emulation attempts). His method involves using his utility, cxbx, to convert an XBOX executable (XBE) to a PC executable (EXE) then emulating all functions a normal PC doesn't support. I can certainly see problems with this approach: some games I'm sure will run too fast, or loose sync with the music or other quirks. Other games may rely so heavily on some low-level GeForce3 optimized code that capturing the call and emulating it may grind emulation to a halt on even the fastest PCs.

Nearly all of the development demonstrations included with Microsoft's devkit run 100%. Many homebrew titles run. Some commercial games play introductions (Turok Evo) :)

You can mod the xbox and play all the roms and such.

That iself is worth it for me I think.
The only real reason I would really consider one is to play all the Mame, NES,SNES games.

I just have all that 3D bullcrap with the newer system.
I like things simple.

Not that I don't think that the 3 games you mentioned are great H34D0N, but you can't play them all on your PC

Toronto vs. NJ, they scored on a rebound using a behind the back shot that I HAD NO IDEA WAS EVEN PROGRAMMED INTO THE GAME! :p MechAssault is fantastic, but only 2 players per Xbox. Bah humbug. :) While we mostly alternated between the above 3 games, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Brute Force were also good fun. MotoGP is just too damn hard to pick up quickly. Fusion Frenzy was a surprise hit. :) I join with the nays.

Halo CTF is godly... just wait until it hits the PC.

The Box does a lot of stuff for a little $$. And anyone who still says "the PS2 is SOO MUCH BETTER" is stuck riding the Grand Theft Auto wave from 2 years ago.

I wish XBox had more 4 player multi player games like Smash Bros Melee or Mario Party.

Godzilla : DaMM, Fuzion Frenzy, Halo, Hunter...

They have a good selection, however, they're definately for the more adult crowd.

  • Kung-Fu Chaos is another 4-player cartoonish beat 'em up game.
  • Brute Force is good 4-player co-op.
  • Legends of Wrestling is pretty good button smashing fun.

It's easy to tell. Here's a rant for all those who maintain the myth that emulators are some black magic you have to scour the web to use and you can visit the site and try all known PS2 emulators yourself ;)

Emulation progress is usually well documented and public. Emulators are usually released during very early development before they even work! I get so SICK when I hear people say "I found a _______ emulator" as if they were hidden or illegal or something. Most have something called an OFFICIAL HOME PAGE! There are enough emulation archive sites, news sites and forums that document the latest advances every day. Start at www.vg-network.com and notice that nearly all of history's non-commercial emulators are all listed available with the latest versions and links to the homepages. Notice that the news posters scour these homepages, IRC channels and forums and bring news of releases, ports, updates, hacks and leaks usually within the day. How could a PS2 emulator which runs commercial games get missed by those guys?! ;) IT CAN'T UNLESS IT'S TOTALLY SECRET UNKNOWN, UNLEAKED AND UNRELEASED

Have you modded it or played nintendo games on the xbox yet? If not, then you're missing out.

what is not accurate?

1)I built an HTPC/Emulation computer, its the same size if not smaller than the xbox, and cheaper yet faster.
This is true.
2)You can plug PS2/Xbox/Gamecube controllers through a USB adapter,
This is true.
3)and you can play the games for all three systems.
This is also true, google is your friend Wingznut, not false accusation. I cannot post links to emulation websites, that is probably against anandtech rules.
4)YOu just have to buy the real gtame and use the emulator.
And last, this is true. OR you can download the game if by chance someone has uploaded a gigabit big file, good luck though.

Please don't accuse me falsely and wrongly, I have never done such to you.
