Realistically, how hard is it to kill a dog?

I have never fought a dog, but today a 25lb dog attacked my cat in my yard and I swung a camera tripod in front of it, hard enough to badly hurt it had I meant to connect with it. It finally ran off when I swatted it lightly with a broom.

It got me thinking... lotta people get hurt by dogs.

How hard is it for a man to kill a dog if he doesn't give a shit about the dog's health? I figure breaking its legs or crushing its wind pipe cant be very hard except on the very largest dogs.

Anyone have experience or know about this?

It's obvious to me that you have never seen a pitbull or rottweiler. These dogs are solid, and will tear you apart with ease. Everyone knows this.

I don't know, but  for you, for protecting your cat!

You didn't damage your tripod, did you?

W/ a weapon? You could probably injure a dog enough to get the underhand. Bare handed though any larger dog would whoop your ass if he wanted to.

I feel like this could be the next great e-peen debate.

Where are the experts to weigh on on how to kill a pitbull with your bear hands.

well, after watching True Lies, Arnie displayed that 2 Doberman are easily dismantled by forcing them to headbutt each other by smashing their heads together when they leap at you.

If you can't kill a dog with your bare hands, I don't know what to say.

You might have a decent chance of the stick has a pointy end on it.

I think a bear could do it with ease using his hands. :D

well you know how they say pitbulls can kill you, but that's because they use their mouths.

what if we used our mouths too? HAHAHAHA But it sucks because dogs' mouths poke out so when they use it, their faces are recessed for protection. our faces are flat and using our mouths still exposes our faces.

I mean i wonder what would happen if a pitbull slammed you into the ground and while it would be hard to get a good swing with your fists, you could just lunge and bite its jugular, wouldn't you rock? hahaha.

DOgs are vicious though. Haven't you seen those stories of cops firing like 10 bullets into a pitbull before killing them? I wanna see an attacking dog tased

Lmao...

You try and kill a full blood pit with a stick and report back with your results and hospital bill.

With a stick? Depends on the person.

Think about it this way, Barry Bonds can hit a 90+mph baseball from a major league pitcher. If a pit bull charges at full speed (say 30mph), to Barry Bonds, the dogs head is a volleyball-size target thrown by a 10 year old. A major league hitter with an aluminum bat against a dog....I don't see the dog winning.

But if he hasn't juiced up in a while he won't do so well

We have some numbers on dog attacks in Harris County and pit bulls are at the top. In 2006, there were 244 pit bull attacks. Labradors were involved in 164 attacks, followed by German shepherds, Chihuahuas and chows with 55 attacks. Harris County tells us it has seen an increase in the number of pit bulls it's taken in.

Damn zombie Chihuahuas :|

You have to be really feral to be able take down a pitbull or rottweiler. I'm sure there are people out there that can win; humans are heavier, and if trained, can kill just about anything less then their bodyweight.
Sure the dog can bite, but you can, too.

Sure, I'm sure there are well-trained men in the world who can do this.
Men from countries who deal with these sorts of animals (Africa) are also capable.
