College was great, except all the work that you had to do. Not to mention exams.

Honestly, the real world is NOT as difficult in my opinion. I don't have to worry about the impending exam that I'm not prepared for. Everything has been a learning experience and pass/fail is not as black and white out here.

How can anything be easier than college? I have two 75 minute classes each day Monday through Thursday. After class all I (usually) have to do for school is read. Granted, I have the occasional exam or paper, which seems to be what you guys are pointing to. While they may be time consuming, they aren't terribly hard if you prepare well.

In the real world, I'll have to wake up early 5 days a week and commute. Personally, that sounds like a major drag to me.

Some of the work in college may be harder, but the consequenses for failure in real life are far more severe.

The real world has been a lot easier for me than college ever was. I miss having summer, spring, and winter vacations though.

Difficulty is not just measured by how hard you work, real life has MUCH more complicated problems than college did, and the decisions you make have more drastic effects.

I would vote college, because most of the time, I was competing against myself. I got good grades or I didn't. Then mix in trying to keep your social life alive while always being poor, I found college to be tougher.

In the real world, there are always idiots sitting next to me, in other departments, etc... so no matter what, I look better. I might re-evaluate this statement after I get kids or something, but for now, college was harder then real life.

college was a joke compared to the real world.

Tests always have measurable outcomes, questions always had answers. You pass or fail, you graduate or you don't its very cut and dry.

Real world is the exact opposite. You answer a question today and find out 3 years later it wasn't the best one lol.

I'm doing a bit of both. Full time college, part time work at First Energy. I prefer real life, more money instead of being broke all the time. This assumes of course you have a job and don't outspend yourself.

when you're in high school you think high school is the shiznit of hard stuff
and then when you're in college you think it's tougher than just being a working class Joe
then when you get out and have a full time job and responsibilities you wish you were back in college.

I worked my ass off in college to graduate with 2 majors in 4 years.

in the "real world," I find that I have a lot more free time and life is generally more relaxing.

College is much easier. It's essentially school, which you've had 12 years experience doing. You have the same routine: start school in September, cram, mid-terms, cram some more, exams, break, start again in January, cram, mid-terms, cram some more, exams, long break; rinse and repeat for 4 years or 7/8 if you go onto graduate school. This situation for MANY (not all) people is very comfortable. Those who live at home or off parents don't have anything to worry about, there isn't much responsibility. Worst case scenario, you flunk out and get a second chance after a year long break.

I am about 2 months away from finishing college and starting "real life", and I'm already going "wtf". I don't have any jobs lined up (haven't even looked yet), not sure which field I want to get into for my field, conflicted as to where I will work, going to pay for crap and where I want to end up. Once I do get a job, stuff I do will also start to matter.
