Real Reason For FX Delay

HAHA, that was hilarious.
On the serious side, this is what I think. I heard somewhere that nVIDIA had planned to build the the GFFX on a .13 micron process 2 years ago but then I also read somewhere that the chip was first developed on a .15 micron process but then it was remade on a .13 . If the later is a possibility, the posible justification for this is that they probably found out that at normal clocks attainable at the .15 process say 300 or 350MHZ, the 9700 pro will squash the GFFX so they thought they will need the .13 process and the process of taping out and actuall production started all over again which fits well with the 6 month delay. Then the question is how could they have found out? Well, does anyone remember the news about the corrupt ATI high official released after the 9700 swept us all off our feet? If its all Bullshit, its still food for thought isnt it?

That's kind of a long shot, but could be possible I guess.

I can't read any of the text in that article, but looking at the benchmark graphs, and considering the price difference between the FX and the 9700 Pro, Nvidia might be in trouble. I guess I will just have to wait for tommorow.
