Picture is too low quality to tell. My first guess would be rendered but there is really no way to tell with that pic.

If that sky is rendered it's pretty nice. I'd like to see more backrounds in games look that good. Maybe the games already out are that good, but my computer can't run them.

you don't need a big image. water without any waves of any sort kinda gives it away...

:confused: it could be real, what makes ya'll so confident it's rendered? For those that have ever been boating know that it is entirly possible to find water without waves (or very close to) it's like skiing on glass :)

I can see that the water is rendered, but the sky does look quite real,

close, the shadow is real, but the rock was rendered.

it has a photographic feel to it.
The hazy background, the sky is definitely real.
THe rock has a lot of detail in it, and it doesn't look like tiled textures either.

I am thinking rendered from the calmness of the water, but i have seen something like this while watching behind the scenes footage. They talked about waiting for a very small band of time where the water in the lake would totally be still in the movie Hero.
