It's been summed up more than I can say, but for it to be raining steadily enough to make the ground slick looking, there wouldn't be that amount of light in the background. I also like how many of cars don't have the correct lights on. The truck looks like it has it's reverse lights on, the 5th car in the right most line either has it's right turn signal on or has some SERIOUSLY strong parking lights. If in fact these cars are in a line, why aren't the headlights showing on the cars in front of them? The cars are also too dated and not messed up enough to be New York City cars.

Definately rendered.

There is no 403rd st. in Manhattan.
Noone is parked in the red zone (even temporarily with emergency lights on).
Where are the cabs?
Car windows are too dry, and lack tinting.

THat part would make sense with the rest of the pics. The crosswalk signs, traffic lights, fire hydrants, newspaper dispensers, & other details are NOT the types/styles in NYC today.

That povray website is actually pretty nice to look at. You guys should look at some of the work those people are doing.

It's not a contest dumbass. You've won nothing but a trip to the NEF pen. Go rut in your NEF mess while we discuss talented raytracing artists.

rendered. the street sign is an obvious giveaway.

the highest street in NYC is only in the 200's, and is several miles away from the buildings depicted in the picture. furthermore, streets run East-West. avenues run North-South and are not labeled as such (ie: 5th Ave is 5th Ave everywhere... there's no North 5th or South 5th).

Also the fact that 0 of the cars are taxis :)

Why no "real or rendered" thread with that B&W girl pic yet? LOL - although we all already know it was rendered.
