No, but if you have Comcast you may have to reset the modem.

What? There are some days where I disconnect my ethernet cables 10+ times (when I'm working on the computer) and I have never once had to reset the modem.

I think it's just in Virginia... Right now I am on Comcast in central VA, and I have to do the same thing with Charter in southwest VA and I know people who have Cox in eastern VA who always have to reset their cable modems often to get them working.

I also think it's odd that all the cable companies in VA start with a C.
