Real CPU Core temp??

Hey guys,

When I check the CPU temperature, it differs from where I check it. In MBM5, it will be around 37 degrees, in SpeedFan, the 3 temps are 35, 35, 37, but in the BIOS, it's reporting CPU temps around 57.

What should I trust?

I belive only P4s have on-die temp sensors, wich are very accurate.

Whether at THG or some other authoritative site, I saw a persuasive argument as to why BIOS CPU temps are always higher than those reported under XP or a similar OS.

It is related partly to hyper-threading and partly to how often the BIOS samples the temperature and affects the temperature as a RESULT of the sampling.

Go by your temperatures reported in the OS. Note the differential with the BIOS, so you have something to work with when reading the BIOS temps is expedient to some change you are making in hardware or OC settings.
