Which do you use, and if so, why?

I have both, and find Reason to be much more user-friendly, but that usually means less powerful.

Obviously the wrong site altogether for this...

Reason is more of a do-it-all & friendly program i'd say, while Reaktor is more a "component" to use in other stuff. At least that
s my humble opinion. I havent really spent massive amounts of time in either one, as I'm partial to hardware. (I heart my moogs).

to simplify it, they are music production software. ive never touched reaktor, but ive used reason. imagine have a few grand worth of production racks and boards at your fingertips through this huge piece of software (takes a couple gigs alone). reason is made by propellerhead software, so if you google propellerhead reason, you'd get some results and more insight on the application.

i don't know much about reaktor but reason is definetely a well respected app in the pro audio recording and production industry. it also interfaces with Pro Tools via a special program called ReWire, which I think might be free. So you can run both programs and have them both go when you hit "play." Great for mixing samples and synths with actual audio without having to go back and forth over and over.
