Bah, Readyboost is a joke. The only machines that benefit from the addition of a USB drive are so lousy, their value is approximate to that of the USB drive itself. MS suggests a 1:1 ratio between RAM and Readyboost, so am I to believe augmenting 2GB of high speed RAM with 2GB of Flash will do a damn thing for me? C'mon. By the way, the data stored by Readyboost is nothing more than the good old Windows Page File, which is still maintained in it's entirety on the hard drive.

I feel that you are correct for the time being. 2-5MB/s will not help much. Take advantage of 64bit and put some extra ram in your PC. Or hose the page file on an SSD like Gigabyte's IRAM or a Hyperdrive.

That list isn't entirely correct. My OCZ Rally 2 (1 GB) does not work with ReadyBoost.

Submit your findings to that page so others will not purchase that usb drive with false hopes.

Sorry dude, the 2GB rally won't work with Readyboost. That's been reported many, many places....

I got that one, I have stuff already on there and manually set it to use readyboost. It applied the settings fine and I see the flash drive blinking when I'm just browsing and opening stuff that's not on the flash drive. Does that mean it worked? I only allocated 400mb and don't really see much of a difference.

A list like that is a cool idea, but I guess because manufacturers use different chips across the same line you'll never know if your particular drive performs like another drive with the same size and model.

im getting a 4gb flash drive for readyboost to go with my 2gb ram. it does help because the info stays intact during shutdowns. boots are much faster, and the more you use the pc the more cache fills us in readyboost, ready to be used quickly.
