Ready To Pay $6 For A Gallon Of Milk?

Dairy farmers warn that there could be a jump in price at the grocery store by year’s end.

Ken Nobis is with the Michigan Milk Producers Association and notes that Congress has its plate full of very pressing issues and fears the Farm Bill may be on the back burner

He says without congressional action – an old law would kick in – and you could end up paying a lot more.

“Probably, talking in the neighborhood of $5-6 a gallon for milk,” said Nobis.

“The consequences are consumers aren’t going to buy the product at that cost.”

Looking at cattle as I type. $6 milk? Not here brah.

And people would pay the $6 regardless just like they buy gas for whatever price it is.

Imagine if we had to pay 5 dollars per gallon for gas with 6 dollars per gallon for milk? That is 11 dollars per two gallons for flaming milk!

Dave, you're back! Or did you ever leave? I was just saying to myself this morning while reading the latest vinegar thread on OT "where's Dave been?".

Any way, I'm sure Congress will get back to subsidizing farmers soon enough.

Every so often Dave makes a thread warning us that milk prices are soaring. I think this is the 3rd one.(Why he's so concerned about is anyone's guess.)
In 2007 he said the price was going to $7- it didn't. I suppose this way, if it ever does get that high, he's covered and can tell us how he predicted it.

If it goes up to $6 a gallon, who would buy it?

I never really understood why any one over the age of 6 drinks milk anyway.
