Ok, so UQ gets banned for personal attacks, yet others can do the same to him. Makes perfect sense to me. Maybe the reason I don't post in this forum. Only the liberals can personally attack you. If you personally attack them you get a ban. Right... that is totally what I was looking for. Why not just make personal attacks ok in this forum? I will be happy to help.

Nothing UQ or anyone else has said to me do I figure are personal... in fact, I find some of it refreshing and thought provoking... Had no idea someone got banned... I do think there could be a flamable thread forum... open to big folks only and upon proof.. type thing.. getting under someones skin does provoke I suppose... and control is a virtue... so who knows... it is someone else's forum and they make the rules... If I were moding the forum I'd have to make the call that way too. With that in mind... as it were..

Yeah and Bush in in Iraq for the oil. Same old tired lines...how about you try to come up with a different and REAL argument.

Get used to it, 'cause you'll be hearing that tire line a lot. Here's a story for you.

article

An excerpt for the click-impaired:

Soldiers say most of their work involves civilian contractor Kellogg
Brown and Root, a subsidiary of Vice President Dick Cheney's former
company, Halliburton Corp. The company has contracts to haul fuel,
and 319th members are riding along as armed escorts.

"The main reason we're still here is to support Brown and Root,"
said Sgt. 1st Class David Uthe, 45, of Augusta.

So what's the right answer General Patton. Send the fuel trucks in unescorted? Get a clue.

Well, if this war wasnt to fill the personal pockets of the Bush Junta and and some Lobbyists on behalf of the American Taxpayers and Iraqi lifes, then these Companies should either pay the service rendered to them (?3.5billion/month), or do what was promised. Let the Iraqis do their oil. So far the accusations of certain companies making(or preparing for) a big buck on the war seem to get confirmed. I wonder about the freedom of the press(and the minds) in the US that nobody seems to find it interesting why especially companies that are in one way or another tied to members of this administration are in Iraq. Also nobody seems to wonder why Bush directed the CIA to create a link WTC-Iraq on the same day of the attack and that the war was planned long before WTC and that Blair already once convinced Bush not to retaliate against Iraq for the WTC tragedy...

Why are the troops complaining? They signed up for the military but can't handle ONE YEAR in a war? Look at the conflicts in Vietnam, Korea, and WWII. There were enlisted and drafted men who served much longer stints in much worse conditions than those in Iraq are facing.

If you didn't want to fight in a war, you shouldn't have joined the military. I respect their commitment to this country but those that are whining are somewhat undeserving of their praise as soldiers.. they can't handle being involved in a conflict.

I concur with Millennium.. to the extent that you all can say what ever you want... about or to me... for me to react or let it bother me ... is well ... sticks and stones can break my bones but names will never hurt me...

thank you.... but, I must also be able to play... if I choose... no... :)

As I said, if UQ was banned, others should have been as well. Either someone went whining to the mods about UQ, or the mods read this thread. I do PM the mods when a member is out of line, but only when they are REALLY out of line. Some pointless insults in a political thread to me, is just a part of the process. Hell, Abraham Lincoln and Douglas used to insult each other in debates. Point being, I don't think people should get so frazzled over some words exchanged. Fire back, make a joke out of it, etc. If someone goes over the line, then tell them and hopefully they will stop. If not, then PM the mods. It really isn't that hard to accomplish. Asking nicely doesn't work only because of the massive amount of subtle backstabbing everyone does to each other.

Some people are subtle with their insults, and some are more direct. Why punish either unequally? How about we not punish them at all. A member and the mods know the line, so just keep people from crossing the line. What UQ said, IMO, wasn't a big deal. It was just frustration and a response to the usual criticism that he gets.

Just my perspective and I could be wrong as usual. :)

hehe very true, subtle backstabbing is what this forum is about it seems :p

about UQ, I dont even know what he said here, didnt read this thread except the last page or two, but before he has been insulting people and I remember once he went over the line of what I thought was too much and I asked him to stop and he just insulted me for it. So for me it isnt suprising, but I do agree, alot more people need a weeks vacation for braking the rules.

My banning was a couple of weeks ago and had nothing to do with this thread. It was caused by a compilation of comments I had made and I'm sure I deserved it. As far as people saying things to me I'll respond in kind or ignore them. People who run to the mods are whiny babies.

It was a few weeks back... it wasn't in this thread. Just seems to be pretty nuts that he can get banned and others don't. ;)

I find verbal bullies humorous... Swatting at the empty bag and all... but.. who knows maybe they go through keyboards faster than F1 Motorcars go through tires..
