Ready boost on my 60GB SSHD a good idea?

I gave up on keep windows on my 60gb sshd. Too much of a head ache constantly trying to manage my storage devices; making sure things were getting stored on C: [which is where everything wants to be store by default, especially iTunes - never figured that one out].

So now I have a 60gb solid state for an F:
What is the best thing to do with it?

Should I assign it for ready boost and allow Windows to lock off 30gb or should I install my favourite games on it?

Thanks for you time guys and ghouls!

ReadyBoost will help, but that is a waste of use for the SSD. I would sell it then save up for a new larger size. The good news... SSD prices decline and performance always improves. $1 per GIG is a VERY common sale price at least in the U.S.

There's plenty. Just keep a lookout at the infamous deal sites. When something is a good sale it comes at the cost of work looking for it. And those working to look for it should be rewarded with that low price. I remember running into at least 10-15 SSDs at $1 GIG the past year. It's not hard to run into... just be patient and do the work yourself to look for it.

I'm probably not going to sell it...

What's the best thing to do with it besides installing my os on it. At the moment I have readyboost active on it and am installing a few games on it.

Is this advisable or should i install all my games on my 7200rpm HDD main drive?

What motherboard do you have?

I believe FancyCache supports using SSDs as a HDD cache device now, I don't know whether it maintains the cache across boots though.

Of course, if you have a z68 board use Intel's RST to make the drive a cache.

Looks like newegg has the Intel 320 80GB on sale for $80 and the OCZ Agility 3 90GB for $85. Get them while you can. I'm grabbing two which is the max the rebate for the Intel allows.

This is what I was getting it. Set it up as an sad cache if possible and you'll see a significant improvement in your overall system responsiveness without the hassle of managing a too-small OS drive.

Sorry I was out of town for a while there...

I have a Gigabyte GA-p67a-UD3-B3. And you appear to be right; Readyboost seems to end when I reboot. I'll do a little bit of research on it before giving up
