Do any of you look at your old threads and think..WTF?

I have notice when I first started here in 2002 I was clueless and asked the dumbest questions.

I know we all have to start somewhere but has anybody else enjoyed reading their past posts and laughed?

Not really, but the other night I looked through a bunch of Facebook albums from when I was in college. It was both funny and deeply embarrassing, and I ended up changing all their privacy settings to "viewable only by me."

Ugh, I think I am the exact opposite. My brain seems to have devolved and I'm a far bigger moron now than I was back then. Blech.

If you want some lulz, go back and see if you can find your old xanga or myspace blogs and read some of your posts then. You will feel pretty embarassed.

Actually, before I deleted my Myspace last year I copy/pasted all of my blogs for posterity. They are quite hilarious to read.

Funny how your life and priorities change.

I used to be more participative / combative in actual conversations.

Now I don't care.

After 12 years people here still barely acknowledge me and I'm pretty sure if I stopped posting nobody would notice.

F you all.

I went and tried to look for mine. I can't remember any of my (stupid) user names I used back then. They're probably out there, though...lol

I remember during the old days (FuseTalk) when there was a "top 10 posters" and someone finally hit 20,000 posts.

DannyLove and yakko were quite active in those days.

My older posts actually surprise me. For some reason they often give me the impression that someone vastly more intelligent than I wrote them.

My first Linux post...

On a related note, I'd like to learn how to setup and maintain a Linux server. I know nothing about Linux, but have a spare laptop I can experiment on. I was wondering how much of Linux desktop application applies to running a Linux server. I realize that it's not the same thing, but was wondering if running a Linux desktop would ease the learning curve a bit.

If it would help, what distro would you recommend? I'm very familiar with Windows, and don't mind tinkering with things, but I'm not a masochist either. I prefer quick and easy to torturous every time . Any advice you all can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I never did setup a Linux server :^D

I just looked, and a couple posts are shocking. Not because of what I typed; because of the prices.
I believe the Pacific-Digital is a Lite-on. The 24x Lite-On is $80 (OEM) or $82 (retail) +5 shipping at NewEgg
(That's for a CD burner that was a hot deal, and the Lite-ons were desirable, though I can't even recall all the reasons. I remember the 32x Lite-on burned 16x media at 32x speeds successfully (most of the time.)
Or how about a good camera deal?
There's a coupon that may be found for 25% off at HSN, is good until 12/25
[edit: link to site with coupon removed, the coupon was removed from that site]

Regular price for Fuji Fine Pix 2.1 Mega Pixel $169.50, minus 25% = $127.13 +8.95 shipping and handling = $136.08

To which a reply was:
Smoking Hot! Closest price is $221 shipped from...

Also, is this decent? Maxtor 40GB 5400, just under 100.. add a paperclip or whatever, and it can be had with a $20 off for about $80.... No hassling with and waiting for a rebate.

omg, another post! at this rate, I'll be a senior member in about 40 years (I can't log in and post from work)

I remember when the Plextor CD-RW was supreme king and commanded a $199 price tag which I paid, ouch.

My first thread:

http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=1066956&highlight=

Definitely funny to read that now, especially considering it's about FAT32, and the fact that I said 8TB does not exist yet. Well, it still does not exist as a single drive. :p

And I think this is my first post:

Are there more fans blowing out then in? That could be the problem. For intakes, if you use filters (and clean them regularly) you can have pretty much a dustless system, but even without intake filters, at least the dust will stay in one area (where the fans) if you have more air going in then out, otherwise, dust is sucked in every peep hole you can imagine.

this article goes more in dept on proper air flow.

http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=1066926&highlight=

Which is funny because that article I linked to (as well as the fat32 one I talk about in the other thread) is still up.

Holy crap, just realized I would have been in grade 12 then. Almost done, and close to starting college. Come to think of it, it's been like 6 years now since I graduated. Damn time flies.

When I joined I was just 2 years out of high school. My only worries in life were food, games, and girls. I was delivering pizza out of a Geo Metro and still living with my parents.

Now..well..you know what growing up (or at least responsible) does to you...mortgage, college debt, children...etc.

My first post..
Is there a place that sells Mobo in/out back panels? I need one for my MSI K7N420 Pro. I bought it online and it didn't come with one or it was lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

And then when no response in a day..
Come on!!! someone?!?!
