reading new york times article on Chrome, every apostrophe appears as a question mark

I get that on one of my websites that pulls data from another source, it seems that some quotes, commas etc that use a different encoding than normal ones, and some computers don't like that. Encoding is a weird thing I will never quite understand myself.

Microsoft Office offers "smart" quotes that use different glyphs for opening and closing quotation marks. It also f's with the apostrophe (single quote) glyph. It also uses five different versions of the hyphen, four of which are unsearchable.

Dang. If I'm missing a font, I will they'd tell me what I need, I could probably find and install it.

Georgia's installed by default. I could find no "Georgia Serif" at MS store. I did install Georgia Pro, but the problem persists. I just chatted at NYT website and the CSR said he'd forward my info to their tech team.
LOL! Thank God I don't use MS software very often (except when I had to provide limited support for it, always hated those tickets).

I stopped using Firefox on this machine a month or two ago because it was slowing down to a crawl. May have something to do with a tab extension I was running on it. But instead of messing around trying to figure out the problem I switched default browsers to Chrome. In any case, NY Times recommends using Chrome with their online edition, so I was running Chrome simultaneously with Firefox.
