here's the deal:
The lan party will be held in the Fellowship Hall of Sandy Level Baptist Church, which is about 0.1 of a mile from exit 27 on I-77. Only 20 guests will be allowed because of power concerns, among others. The first 20 people to email me will be the 20 guests to attend. I know this sounds strict and stupid, but believe me, it's necessary. It will be held on March 15, 2003. A small fee will be required to cover the building rental, snacks, etc (around $10). Every guest is REQUIRED to bring: 1)a working computer and monitor on which to play games, 2)a 100mb/s NIC, 3)a cat5 network cable. Headphones are strongly suggested. Things such as porn, alcohol, illegal substances, weapons, etc are strictly prohibited. Feel free to bring your old (and new) stuff to sell and trade in a little swap meet. Have fun!

We had a small party thrown by Gillbot in Charlotte NC last year and it was a blast....

Depending on the day and my wife I can say that I would drive down, my baby brother (33 years old) lives in Columbia, I am sure he would enjoy checking it out and getting his A$$ kicked in a LAN party!

I live off exit 24 in Blythewood. Where you are talking about would probably be within a mile or 2 of where I live.

I would definitely drop in and see whats what.

Charlotte area here, might be up for some of that if there is any music to be traded, could bring at least 5,000 songs, maybe 8,000 if I get the rest of the cd's ripped in before the party......:) and always looking to add to my collection...

March 15th sounds good to me. Unless for some reason I have to work on that day... But I'll get it off if I can.

99% sure I'll be there.

might want to make sure you can get switches and hubs in time. Like buy them and charge a slightly higher fee to get in.

It would suck to get there and only have 10 people able to play.

that sounds good
of course, it would be a bit premature to make decisions like that right now
first, i need to know about how many people will show up
i can't really work out details of anything else until i know that much
EX: what if i have like 100 network ports and only 10 show up? that's a lot of money that i don't have to waste

I think this is like 5 minutes from where I live. I didn't realize that there was this many people that live in Columbia on AT.

Granted, I don't claim Columbia, even though I live there.... Go Tigers! :)

Edit: Just out of curiousity, what building are you planning this shindig in? I dunno if I'll be able to make it or not - I'll probably still be in Clemson. Just wanted to see if I know it right offhand.
