I have no idea whether it's forum or browser specific problem, but very often (not always which is puzzling) I close Firefox (I am using latest version) and open the forum again, number of last posts in my watched threads are marked as unread. It's a "bit" annoying to open your CP and see everything looking like new, when in fact nothing changed for up to a few hours.
 
I have a similar issue, the "new post button" doesn't work. Posts I've read always show as unread. Generally everything works for a few hours after the Saturday night maintenance. I asked about it long ago, they can't or won't address it.

The only solution I've found is to spend more time on forums that work.
 
The only solution I found thus far was marking all forums read. Then when I close FireFox, I don't get any old-new posts. But that's only a workaround, and a little bit annoying even.

My absolutely uneducated guess is some problem with the forum software ('s settings) and cookies and specific browsers.
Either way, I'd love to see it investigated.
