read cd rom off another computer....

MY cd-rom busted and i need to install program from a cd. Is there a way I can read the cd rom off my girlfriends computer from my computer?

Yeah, but since you provided no information on your setup it's guesswork as to how to tell you to go about it

Share the CDROM, map or browse to that share in a number of ways, typically I will bypass network places and go straight UNC \\servername\share or if the name isn't resolving you can use the IP \\IP\share

I know i can share it off a network, but i have not had much success sharing folders over Windows XP, so I odn't think i would have success sharing a whole drive.

Also, I would take my g/f cd-rom off her laptop and put it in mine, but i have no idea how to take a cd rom off a inspiron 2650.

basically, two computer hooked up to a router with a built in switch. I have tried sharing folders, but fro soem reason, it only gives me access to her folders when it wants to.
