I just finished Nelson DeMille's "Up Country". I loved it, as I have loved all his books. I need something new to read now. Any suggestions??
 
While I recently re-read Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, I'd have to say that the best novel I've read recently has been The Dragon Never Sleeps by Glen Cook. Also, if you can find it, I highly, highly recommend reading the Continuing Time series by Daniel Keyes Moran (including Emerald Eyes, The Long Run, and The Last Dancer). Also check out David Gerrold's War Against the Chtorr series.

I know alot of people love Grisham, but I find his books shallow and kinda written on a low level. That's just me, the guy is a big time bestselling author obviously.
 
In the heart of the sea, a real story about a moby dick-like encounter by the whalers out of nantucket. Good read, movie on the way.

A couple, but most aren't published yet. I've been reading a few of the more striking 20th century classics though, and I have to say that "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" is definitely well-worth a read.
 
I was just given a Palm from work and spent yesterday loading up the memory card with Jack London books 🙂.

Call of the Wild has always been my favorite book and I thought I'd get around to reading some more of his.

I read one McCaffrey book that sucked horribly and I've been disinclined to look into any more. Are some of her books better than others?
 
Last book I read was Timeline by Michael Crichton, currently reading The Catcher in the Rye (old one, but I heard it was a good book and no I don't have to read it for school).

That's another goodie, The Catcher in the Rye. Not a difficult read at all, but I love the storytelling myself 😉

 
If you're interested in Sci-fi At all I would suggest, David Brin's "Earth". He wrote it in 89 but for that time he had alot of insight in to how the future will be affected by the Internet and information technology. 😎

As an author she was a definite lightweight (I think she's passed away now..), but I did enjoy The Ship Who Sang and othes in that series, along with the series including The Rowan, Damia, and others. Just don't expect a lot.
 
yep read the 5 Star Wars books by Timothy Zahn, Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, The Last Command, Spectere of the Past , and Vision of the Future, best continuation of THE trillogy EVER.
