They percieve themselves to be doing good, and the rest of the world to be wrong. This isn't "racism" or "intolerance", it's a deeper human problem.
What are you doing besides sitting safe and expounding philosophy without committing yourself to the debate?
I'm trying to find a good moral compass, if such a thing exists. Popular thinking, more specifically the notion that "racial intolerance" is the ultimate evil, is definitely not one.
Why not get proactive on men who beat their wives? Children who bully other children? Pimps and drug dealers? What makes this particular issue so evil? I say it's because of the flawed social conception of it. The media has turned it into this great evil, and you're making yourself out to be a heroic martyr. It's easy for the knight to talk of slaying dragons high atop a hill in his castle.
Most of the world is on the side of America. Ultimately I think even though we're in a self-righteous power trip, it's better than letting a small violent minority on the other side of the world have free run of things.
