RE5 Dev - "We're not sexualizing Sheva or doing anything sleazy with her"

As I've mentioned before, I never cared about the RE series, even though I've been surrounded by hardcore fans of the series with friends and family.

I'd have to say that if it wasn't for Sheva, I would've never paid any attention to this. So yes, the marketing work:

I bought the game yesterday 😀

Even though they don't go to extremely low exploiting like say a game such as Onechanbara Samurai Bikini Squad, Rumble Roses or Dead or Alive.

I didn't buy the game specifically because of Sheva, but it got me curious of the game and made me pay a little more attention, which I ended up downloading the demo, and the gameplay was pretty fun, which otherwise I would've just dismissed the game like I have the last few releases. Seeing Sheva run around in game, and with some fan service camera shots of the cut scenes was just an added bonus. It's pleasing to the eyes, instead of constantly having to see Chris' shoulders. I might even try to unlock the outfits. 😱

Gawd, I sound like a horny teenager now, even though I'm in my 30's. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a sad thing. LOL

I don't see a problem with this. As long as men are infatuated with the female body, it will be used.

And what about the men that are not infatuated with the female body? Is that why we are seeing more "soft" men in magazines and clothing catalogs? Just a hhmmmm thought question of the moment.

I feel Sheva was handled tastefully... Chris never treats her as a sex object (sorry if that's a spoiler for any of you out there...), and aside from a few lingering cinematic shots, shes just a hot chick with a gun.

Maybe to be fair we can petition Capcom to add some skimpy costumes for Chris next game.

Chippendale's Chris?

I agree, Sheva was handled pretty tastefully. She's not a 110lb girl with Q cup boobs like you'd find on alot of games, she's "reasonably" normal looking.

That made me laugh.

Also, as far as RE babes go, you all failed to mention Ashley, and Hunnigan from RE4.

Not that either of them are any hotter than who was previously mentioned, but they should at least be ranked against the others.

Isn't Ashley like 15? Either way, very "meh." All RE characters pale in coolness comparison to the original Jill Valentine with the blue beret.

Since I never got into the previous series, what made Jill so cool?

I think if they did release a skimpy costume set for Chris, it would actually sell pretty well. I think there is an untapped market with the female and gay gamers.

Because she was sort of the anti-Sheva. Not sexualized whatsoever (at least not in RE1), cool and composed...and the blue beret...I dunno what it is that makes her so cool.

Cool?
