re-sizing Explorer 6.0 when opening a new window from link?

Whenever I open a new window from a link I get a small 4" x 4" window. I can't figure out how to get it to open to a normal size window! I have tried dragging the corners and making it full size and then closing it. This doesn't seem to work. Can anybody help me out with this annoying little concern?
Thanks!

Hmmm. I have seen the solution somwhere in Micorsoft's Knowledge base. I think it had to do with a couple registry changes. I'll try to hunt it up later.

try and see if this works open up a single explorer window. (you can't have any others open while you do this). if it opens as maximized hit the middle button to "restore down" resize the window to whatever size you want it. then close the window. this is how i resize the default size on mine (and for me the links will open at this size as well...)
just out of curiosity does this happen for all sites?

just an easy thing to try...

Thanks for the replies! I have tried the single open browser, sizing it, and closing it deal. Still opens with the little 4 X 4 window. It does indeed do this from any link from any web site. It started when I got a one time payment number form Amex. It brought up the window that size. Once I got the number I just closed it since there was no need to open the browser up to full size. Now I have the annoying little browser window everytime I right click to open a new browser. It opens to the normal size when the browser is initially launched.

just as another thing to try have you tried clearing the temporary internet files/cache... sometimes that'll help if it keeps reading an out of date setting etc...
just another thing to try, sry the first one didn't work...

Pulling my hair out here!!
I tried the expanding the widow and then launching a new browser. It open up the correct full size! Problem solved right! Of course not! I closed all open browsers and then relaunched a new browser. Right clicked a link to open a new window. Same old problem! :frown:

hehe, ur in luck, my first post. (XP/IE6).

Right-click on the IE bar on Windows Task-Bar (at the bottom).
you get several choices; try Cascade (all IE windows will cascade).
Select an IE window, maximise it and Open a link in new window.
You should get the new window in a larger size (Cascade size).

Hope this helps.
I was surfing with the small windows for 3 days cos I accidentally tiled the windows vertically and with 20 IE windows open, I was in smurf land.
When I read this post, I realised what I did wrong (2 wrongs make one right?)
😉

Hold down the control key as you're resizing the window, then IE should remember the new size.

Open a new window from a link, then close the original window. Resize the new link window to what you want it to open to next time then close that as well. You should be good to go from there.
