I just got mine on Tuesday, super fasst shipment. I put together a AMD 1700 system with an Antec 830 case that I just got from Outpost on Tuesday as well. The PS was bad in the Antec and put the Linkworld one in. Runs like a charm.
FYI, I called to rma the PS and Outpost will have nothing to do with it, they said I have to contact Antec directly. WTF? This is the 2nd time I have had problems returning defective products to Outpost. They do not stand behind what they sell.
Antec told me to ship back the PS and a floppy drive that I think got smoked due to it back for replacements. Way to go Antec. Outpost can go to he$l.

The real question is, does anyone know a retailer that sells cheap power supplies with a higher +5 amperage? This one has 30 amps and I would like one that was at least 32 - 35 amps without costing an arm and a leg.

Thats because you keep turning them on and off. Leave the lightbulb on the whole time and it will probably last the spec'd time.
Im not about to get into a whole electronics tutorial...but did you ever stop to wonder why lightbulbs almost always blow when you turn them on?

Try using florescent bulbs instead of incadescent ones.
Sure, they may cost more but they produce less heat and use less energy which will save you in the long run. If you cannot install the long beam ones, you can find the screw in ones at Home Depot at a fairly good price.
You can keep these on all day and night and still use less power than keeping those old filament (sp?) ones on for a few hours.

That is true about light bulbs. Something else though, light bulbs have an expnential failyre rate probability which always decreases so the probability of it failing is always greatest when you turn it on regardless of how many time you turn it on or how long you leave it on, pure mathematics. And interestingly enough, the rating of 1000 hours simply means tha about 50% of light bulbs last the 1000 hours or more (less then 50% to be exact) so the manfacturers of light bulbs are certenly cheeting the consumer with the numbers.
But back on subject. I installed the PSU without problems and it works great with very sttrong and stable power. It also has a great fan and good curculation so I think it will last a while.

even if you turn it on/off frenquently, you can at least use them for 4 or five years. am I right?

Eek. I was gonna buy this to run an XP 2100+, 512mb DDR, 32x Burner, 16x DVD, ATI 8500, and 6 hard drives... guess this wont work

just to reply to why light bulbs burn out when you turn them on:
The resistance of the filament increases as it heats up so when you turn it on at first the resisitance is low and the voltage is the same (120V) so there's a huge rush of current through the filament.. I = V/R (current equals voltage div by resistance)

my interjection is some power supplys are horrably inefficient. Given that 15% waste is 67wh of 1kwh and that a average consumable draw of say 150 watts or 1000/150 = 6.7 hours for say 10 cents. 8760 hours / 6.7hours = 1307. Cost to run the computer woud be $130.74 plus the loss of 15% brings the total to $150.36. $150.36 - 130.74 = $19.64
So in other words you lose $20 a year by purchasing this power supply. And thats if you consume 150 watts of power.
Now I bet the waste is closer to 20% to 30%.
Given these facts I would purchase an enermax power supply rated close to what you really need.

Can anybody that already has one of these comment on how loud they are? I really, really get annoyed by noise. I just plunked $60 down for an enermax power supply with an adjustable fan so I can moderate how much noise it puts out. Is this thing as loud as some of the jet engines that Antec puts in their cases?

If you would leave the lights on 24/7 you would see that their estimate is good. Also adding dimmers helps (ones that automatically dim up the light when you turn it on. It's turning them on and off suddenly that causes light bulbs to fail.
