I was thinking about cloning my girl after she passed away... but now that I know how much it will cost, I'm glad I didn't.

I wonder if the pet's temperment would be the same or not...

You are lucky if they have the same look. In the case of cloned cats and other patterned animals the colors and spots will be different. Freakin weird right?

Man and my dog just died 🙁 It would have the same genes and all, but there would still be a lot of work put into making it as relational and loving towards you as your old dog.

Sorry to hear that 🙁

Well that's the thing - it's like your computer broke and you bought the same parts off Newegg, but the hard drive is bare. You have to fill it up again. The dog's experiences and memories and habits will all be different unless you replicated the exact circumstances in which it grew up.

And thus begins the "Nature versus Nurture" debate. I bet if So were to come in he would say "Of course they would be the same... scientifically it's the same DNA, so it would have to be 100% identical to the original in ALL aspects."

I was just talking about this with a friend. He compared it to Ferraris...you wreck your Ferrari, you go out and get another one. Your dog gets hit by a car, go out and get another one.

....except the dog is cheaper to replace :Q

Only way to answer this is to see how the progeny grows. No one can really answer how the mind works. However; I believe it'd come down to mostly the experiences the pup has growing up this time around.
