Re-Installing WindowsXP Pro?

I have had XP Pro happily (and legally) installed on my hard drive, and I just got a newer bigger hard drive. I already "registered" the OS on the old hard drive, so will it let me install XP on the new hard drive? I'm not sure how the XP regestration system works....anyone else tried this yet?

LMK!

It should work fine. XP allows you to change up to 6 pieces of hardware before you have to call it in. Hope this helps.

Well, I would be going from a 24gig maxtor, a KK266-R with a 700duron and 512mb of PC133 ---> To a 80gig seagate, a Tyan Tiger MX, dual 700durons, and 1gig of ECC Registered RAM......would this be workable? And also - what do you mean by "ca;; it in"? Would I have to like call micro$oft and verify something?

Thanks for the input,
-Jeff

If you change all that, then you're going to have to call microsoft and get another activation code. Just tell them you just reinstalled, and they'll give you another code to activate it, no questions asked (at least, they haven't asked anyone I know who's done that any questions 😉 )

I replaced the motherboard and cpu and had no problems. Just make a copy of the wpa.dbl file onto a floppy then restore it.
