Re-install (Mac)

Picked up a used Mac power pc and I'm having trouble with the way it is running ( No experience with them at all). I would like to format and reinstall the OS but not sure of what kind of problems I will have getting it up and running again. Does anyone have horror stories doing this or is it as easy as formatting a PC. Thanks for your input

The only experience I had was replacing a HD once

Having the restore cd should do the trick.

Thanks for the link ...I think I'll give it a shot...Still got my PC if it turns into a paper weight
