RDRAM Trouble..ecc and non ecc

I am a very confused Intel P3 1ghz and 820 chipset user..currently i have 128mb of RDRAM clocked at 356mhz in the bios.
I'm glad to see that 128mb rimms of RDRAM are actually affordable now but all the different types are confusing,
Firstly many retailers say that the RDRAM they sell is only for Pentium 4 based systems.

Also they sell ECC RDRAM and non ECC RDRAM...is there any difference besides ECC being more expensive?

And what type should i go for as a Pentium 3 owner?
 
ECC is error correction memory and is always more expensive than non ecc, but also usually less over clockable. You cannot run ECC with non ECC on the same channel. I have dual P3 on an OR840 chipset and thats nonsense that the memory is only for P4 systems. It should say that P4 requires to be run in pairs, as is with all the RDRAm boards I have had experience with. Im running PC800 which is noticeably faster than the others, so stick with it.
