I have 2 sticks of 128 PC800 RDRAM that do not like each other. Can someone tell me why RIMM1 and RIMM2 are not compatible? CDW seems the think that they are.

One is only rated up to 400MHz (800MHz RDRAM) with 45ns latency, while the other allows 40ns latency? All I can see. Well, no. One of them is also very high density chips used. 256Mbx4 cells used (I don't know what the 2nd and 3rd mean). What happens when used together? Or does one not work at all? What chipset are they being used on?

Latency and density were the only differences that I can see as well. I am not sure of the chipset (it is a Gateway machine), and the machine is in another building at the moment. The machine will not post, just like it had no ram at all. Our secretary is talking with the CDW rep, and he is shipping me another piece.

Your machine should have a serial number on it. Gateway's support site lets you put in the serial number and get the exact specs of the system. :)

There's this new invention, it's called a "telephone". It works very well when used in conjuction with the Mark I Eyeball.
