RDP Error: Your credentials did not work

Okay so what's up with this..

I did a clean install of Win7 Ultimate to my laptop. Enabled remote desktop connection as usual. Now I can't remote to the laptop from outside my home. I can rdp just fine from home - from my desktop to the laptop, but not from outside the house. I'm at the office today and I see a error saying "your credentials did not work."

I can still remote to my desktop from work, but not the laptop.

Hmm, might want to make sure you have the workgroup settings correct.

When I installed windows, I connected to my wifi, and told the settings this is a home network, so it put the laptop on the default workgroup settings. Nothing out of the norm there I think.

Gotcha. Then as corkyg pointed out, could very well be something in the permission settings.

Check your Permissions settings.

I installed Win7 with my PC name as "Lenovo" as an Administrator.

I enabled RDP from control panel, then selected "allow connections from computers running any versions of Remote Desktop (less secure)" as I've done every time.

**Resolved**

I just had to add another rdp port forward to my router to allow "Lenovo-PC" for the laptop.
