Rdio has failed me. What music service do you guys subscribe to?

I'm thinking about it. Lot of friends use Spotify free, but no one I knows pays for it. I might just sign up for a trial in a few minutes. I never used it before.

Thought about giving XBOX music a go, but I don't think they have mobile clients. Rdio's lack of support for WP8 and Android is why I am leaving them after being a loyal subscriber for a long time.

I like slacker, I'm not too familiar with many other apps though, so I don't really have anything to compare to other than Pandora.

I just like Slacker's filtering options, being able to set the variation level from the style/genre of bands you have chosen. I also like choosing to ban songs OR artists. It seemed like every Pandora channel I ever created had Tom Petty songs in it. That annoyed me.

Anyone remember how Microsoft had the Zune music service which let you download 10 tracks a month for free to burn to CD?

Is there any service that does that today?

I pay for the base level of slacker so i can cache stations. thats all i use it for
i use Google music mostly

Google Music is fine for your personal collection, but I like that I can discover new music from most subscription services.

I'll check Slacker out too.

I have a big music collection, and listen to various streaming stations. Streaming tends to be on the mellow side. If I want something more lively, I put on music I already have.

I am using Xbox Music right now mainly due to it working on all my Win 8 PCs and my WP8. I have been using it for a few weeks now and I am happy with it.

Spotify, the free version. I don't want the premium features enough to subscribe. If I want to listen to music/playlists offline I have iTunes Match.

I think I may do Spotify. It seems they have their stuff together with all platforms. I like the idea of the way they do playlists too.

I actually like Spotify for the collaborative playlists. I'm lucky enough to work with a good friend of mind and we share a big playlist that we add/subtract songs from.

This. Plus the ability to just follow other people's playlists, see what they're listening to, etc, is really cool.

Spotify free is perfect for me, i.e. streaming but from desktop/laptop only.

When I'm out and about and want to listen to music I have a part of my personal music library (that I switched out every now and then) on my phone.

Songza is fun too, although it may not be quite what you're looking for. I use it all the time on my PC and my phone in the car.

Hah, that found a lot of songs I liked in a row. Kinda like a better Pandora. I need something that will work seamlessly in all platforms. I have a lot of platforms too. 🙂

pandora is a reasonably useful service if you're looking for bands that are similar to one that you particularly like.

other than that I stream talk radio and electronic music mostly.

The only talk radio I used to listen to was Howard Stern on Sirius. But holy crap they are expensive now. I can't believe I used to pay so much for it.

I've been trying for 2 hours to buy Spotify Premium service. What a joke. Their payment page never loads for me.

I remember having some problems getting to the payment page as well for some reason. It seems like the payment service goes down from time to time. If you do end up getting through it is well worth the wait. Spotify is by far the best music service I have ever used and well worth the $10 a month(and they even have a Linux client).

My ex-wife has Zune still. It was a great service download all you want long as you pay the monthly fee. Also you get 10 permanent downloads a month. i thought it was great

.
I use MOG. Didn't care for Spotify. MOG has a really good iPhone app. $10 a month, 16 million songs.

nice service. one nit picky thing is you i don't see how you search by genre.
