RDC and multiple computers

Is it possible to setup RDC to work with more than one computer at a remote network? That is, be able to choose which computer to connect to at the time of login? Also, how to do this thru a router?

You'll have to explain the first part of your question a bit better. What would inhibit you from opening up multiple RD sessions? I have 7-10 at a time on occasion. Perhaps it's tied into your second question.

To run multiple RD sessions through a router forwarding ports you'll have to change the port RDP listens to on the machine your trying to get to, then forward that port on your router. Default is 3389 so you'd change the port on machine A to 3400 or whatever then type machinea:3400 in the RD connection window. If this isn't what your trying to do then please explain yourself a bit better. At least give us a chance to figure out what your asking and help you.
 
Going thru a router. Only have one external IP to connect to. Using port forwarding to direct RDC to a specific computer but need to choose a different computer on same network as needed.

The same principles apply to RDT or any other program that let you change the default communication ports.

Either change the default port from 3389 on the other computers and enter the IP as XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX😛ort number

OR

Remote Desktop into the one computer and open remote desktop on that computer to hit the ones at the 192.168 addresses on the network

Sounds like I'm getting warm but I can't figure out how to make RDC use a port other than 3389. Any ideas?
 
If you use Windows Small Business Server 2003 as the Internet-exposed server, you can have many simulataneous Remote Desktop connections in to both Servers and Workstations. No need to change any ports. SBS takes care of all that automatically, using ports 3389 and 4125. It's called "Remote Web Workplace". The clients all run Internet Explorer.
