Was this remote designed for a wide variety of brands or is it mostly for RCA devices only?

Universal remote made by RCA for just about any tv/vcr. There is like a list of 2000 TV's :p

Actually, I buy them and put the original one's in the drawer, there's always some functions that can only be done by the factory remote, so for the everyday uses I would rather wear out the universal ones.

Yes, this is a B & M deal.

They had a big stack of them on the counter here in San Diego, California
with a sign that said 66% off $14.99 ($5.00)

Works great with my new JVC TV and Sony DVD.
Also works with a 10 year old Panasonic VCR.

Just picked one up, thanks again. They had some others on sale too, this one is a 4 in one, they had a 5 in one on sale for $15 instead of $30, but one extra device isn't worth an additional $10 :)

Just picked one up. Wouldn't pay more than $5 for it. But for $5 it's a great deal. Thanks joker!

Not sure, I'm too lazy to go find the manual and find out. But there's a link to a .pdf version of the manual on the radioshack website if you want to see for yourself.

I also picked up one. It dos not work with General Instruments Cable box. i had bought another RCA universal a few weeks ago, and it also could not play GI's cable box.

Does someone kow if it can be used with a Kenwood stereo system also ? Since it is not playing the cable box... it would be great if I could use the fourth function (TV, VCR, DVD) for Music System....... I would really appreciate it.
