RCA Lyra? 128MB Pocket MP3 Player - What do you guys think of it. The reviews seem decent and I can't find it anywhere else for cheaper. I can still pick it up with the MSN Rewards (how do I get an MSN account??)

Thanks:beer::D:beer:

*EDIT* This is going to be used for *ONLY* workouts, which includes weight lifting and running */EDIT*

I can't imagine what I would use an MP3 player with 128MB of storage for. I mean, I'd have to actually put thought into my playlist beforehand. I'd suck it up and buy an Ipod, personally.

Yea, that is true. It's gonna get annoying having to change/delete/add songs frequently which is going to happen. I'd just "suck it up and buy an Ipod" too. :)

Unless you want to expand that memory, that 128MB of memory is not going to be enough. I think its a great little player though.

Edit - What they said. ^ Suck it up.. suck suck suck!

128 you can put 30-40 songs @ 128-192kbps quality. Surely your workouts will be breif enough for that.

I kinda think that's what they were intended to be used for, among other things. Besides, it has a warranty. As long as you don't drop a weight on it or something, if it broke due to excessive vibration you could always return it for another one.

if you like the same 128mb of songs everytime, or don't mind the hassle of changing songs each time.. i guesso. that much trouble i'd just get a panasonic shockwave walkman radio thing instead:p

most have 7-8 minute buffers.

I don't know if I want an iPod. The way I was looking at this was if it breaks, no big deal, it is $80.

An Ipod is a LOT bigger and not small at all. I can't see myself spending money on a hd based mp3 player until they hold 100gb so I can hold a good chunk of my music.

128mb was enough for a new album everyday (about 1hour workout 5x a week).

CONVINCE ME PEOPLE. Convince me, either way.

Your entire music collection is greater than 100 GB and you're contemplating buying a 128 MB player?

What about when you take a road trip? Wouldn't it be nice to take a sizeable chunk of your collection along for road music?

Ipod isn't even that big.. it's really thin. Why would you go with a third world country looking device when You can do so much better at the same price.

Not saying Ipod is in the same price category. If you can cough up a lil bit more $$ get something by Panasonic or even a MD player.

forget the iPOD and forget the lyra...hook yourself up with a basic minidisc player. Its about $100 at ebay for the NE410 or N505, and each has battery life that would knowck the crap out of other mp3 players or the ipod. Each minidisc is good for like 74-80 minitues of audio, and you can always carry a couple of discs with you since theyre small and durable. I was <...> this close to buying one but my gym membership expired and I really saw no reason to get it...altho, I may be signing up again in a week or two.

BTW, the MD forums Ive been to give rave reviews on how these units perform when theyre used while working out. Find more info here and also at these forums.

you can pick one up on ebay for under 75 bucks give or take. It's a helluva a lot better and better looking than that 3rd world country looking RCA
